Throughout 2023, twelve schools in the three academies of the Grand-Est region worked on the “Draw me Gender Equality” project: press cartoons in favour of equality.
Each secondary school received the exhibition “Draw me Gender Equality”. A workshop-debate was organised in each school in the presence of a cartoonist and a member of the Cartooning for Peace teaching team. The teachers also carried out complementary projects based on the theme of gender and the teaching tools provided by the organisation.
On 15 November, at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, all the work done by secondary school pupils and teachers as part of this educational project, run by the Grand-Est region and Cartooning for Peace, is showcased.
Nearly 300 pupils who took part in the project are expected to attend. Teachers and students will testify to the work accomplished and the contribution made by the project. The event will also provide an opportunity to meet the cartoonists Marame, Rodho and Plantu, as well as Ghada Hatem, a gynaecologist and founder of the Maison des Femmes in Saint-Denis, who wrote the texts for the exhibition.
