With a view to the future “Désinfox Jeunesse” project with CFI Media Development and Africa Check, Cartooning for Peace is taking part in the Africa Check summit held this year on 5 and 6 October 2023 in Mauritius.
An annual gathering of the African fact-checking community, “The Africa Facts Summit” is an opportunity to:
“come together to discuss not only the challenges, but also the opportunities as part of the wider effort to combat misinformation on the continent”

Cartooning for Peace and its partners hope to use this event to encourage meetings and create synergies between press cartoonists and fact-checkers, in order to explore the possible uses of press cartoons in Africa Check’s fact-checking mission.
Press cartoonists Zohoré (Côte d’Ivoire), Z (Tunisia) and Celeste (Kenya) will be on hand to share their experiences and testify through live cartooning.

The “Cartooning in Africa” exhibition will also be on display during the two days of the summit.
