Cartooning for Peace is pleased to announce the launching of its programme ‘Cartooning for Peace and Democracy’ in Canada. In partnership with the Museum of Civilization in Québec, the association Vision Diversité and the McCord Museum, as part of the commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the First World War, the Canadian program, financed by the European Union, aims to develop critical minds and raise awareness on societal issues, using the pedagogical value of press cartoons.

The partners organise on 3rd and 4th December a training session, in order to prepare Canadian press cartoonist and teachers from partner schools from Québec and Montréal within sight to hold workshops until the end of March.

Cartooning for Peace will count on the participation of the following cartoonist: Bado, Brignaud, Côté, Garnotte et Jacques Goldstyn et Ygreck.

Until March, trained teachers and press cartoonists organize workshops adapted to Canada (canadian cartoonists and context) in schools on the exhibition “Cartooning for Peace”.

Following the workshops, the exhibition ‘Cartooning for Peace’ will be presented on March 20th 2019, during La Semaine de la Francophonie celebration at the the Museum of Civilization in Quebec and the McCord Museum in Montreal. Another exhibition featuring the works of the program students will also be presented.
