from 20 to 22 November 2024

Cartooning for Peace is taking part in the 2nd edition of the European Agora for Journalism in Brussels, organised from 20 to 22 November by Journalisme & Citoyenneté (J&C) and IHECS.

During these two days, journalists from the 27 countries of the European Union and neighbouring countries are gathering in Brussels to think about the future of journalism and media education in Europe on the theme: “AI, the media, Europe and me. European Journalism”.

This is the backdrop to Cartooning for Peace’s month-long exhibition entitled “Artificial Intelligence: a (r)evolution?”, featuring a series of press cartoons from around the world that explore the issues at the heart of the deployment of artificial intelligence, always with a sense of humour and… intelligence!

The exhibition is based on the book “Artificial intelligence: a (r)evolution?’, published by Gallimard as part of the Cartooning for Peace collection, with a preface by Olivier Tesquet, in partnership with Amnesty International and France Médias Monde.

MEETING “Who are the AI players?” – 21 November, 2pm to 3:15pm

Olivier Tesquet, foreword to the book, is present at the opening of the exhibition and takes part in the meeting: “Who are the AI players?” on 21 November from 2pm to 3:15pm, alongside Nathalie Vandystadt (AI Office of the European Commission) and Paloma Bru, who will provide an insight into the implementation of the AI Act in Europe and in Spain in particular.

Moderated by Philippe Laloux, journalist with the Economics Department of Le Soir newspaper.
