Cartooning for Peace is delighted to be taking part in the Couthures-sur-Garonne International Journalism Festival for the 4th time running.
Organised by the editorial teams of Le Monde Group and Nouvel Obs, the International Journalism Festival brings together the world’s largest newsroom in all its plurality and diversity, with players from the written press, TV, web and radio, accompanied by international colleagues. News professionals and players in the news community are here to discuss with you, news and media enthusiasts, the major issues facing our society and the role of the media in covering them.
This year, cartoonists Ann Telnaes (USA), Vadot (Belgium) and Kak (France), President of Cartooning for Peace, are taking part in a number of debates on the Festival’s seven major themes.
« When Cartooning for Peace gets animated”
To mark World Press Freedom Day, Cartooning for Peace is bringing its drawings to life with the ‘Caricartoons’ project, a unique encounter between cartoons and animation, in partnership with Européens Sans Frontières (ESF) and Reporters Sans Frontières (RSF).
Cartooning for Peace artists will be on hand on Saturday 12 July at 4.30pm to work with young festival-goers to create a collective (and humorous!) fresco on one of the Festival themes, chosen by the young people of the Val de Garonne Agglomération.
Throughout the Festival, Cartooning for Peace’s press cartoonists will also be working with young festival-goers to run workshops in the P’tite Rédac.
