25/02/2021 - 01/03/2021

In partnership with the IICBA-UNESCO, Cartooning for Peace continues to raise awareness of press cartooning and its pedagogical use for teachers (see training for young people/leaders), as part of the programme “Silencing the Guns in Africa by the Year 2020 through Investing in Youth Education, Awareness and Advocacy“, launched by the African Union (AU). On 25 February and 1 March this year, two training sessions, one in English and the other in French, were held with teachers from different disciplines and different countries, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa.

The two training sessions were led by press cartoonists Gado (Kenya) for the English-speaking session and Damien Glez (Burkina Faso) for the French-speaking session. They enabled an awareness of the pedagogical tools created by Cartooning for Peace as well as training in the different pedagogical methods, which were put into practice during workshops-meetings.
