Cartooning for Peace is pleased to present its exhibition “All Migrants! “, in German version, as part of the exhibition “FLIGHT – BORDERS – HUMAN RIGHTS”, presented from September 26, 2018 to March 30, 2019 at the Schule des Ungehorsams (School of Disobedience) in Linz (Austria), in partnership with the Center for Persecuted Arts in Solingen (Germany).

The current migration crisis in Europe is causing, in some EU countries, a worrying rejection of those populations who are fleeing war, famine and unemployment.

This exhibition retraces the complex journey of migrants through press cartoons from all over the world. From the reasons for leaving to the process of integration in a new country, not forgetting the obstacles encountered during their journey, press cartoonists analyse in a few lines this major challenge for our societies. Through the thematic panels, their pencil strokes break down prejudices, denounce the rejection of strangers and show the contribution and richness of diversity.

The School of Disobedience was founded in 2017 by the Austrian press cartoonist Gerhard Haderer, member of Cartooning for Peace. Located in an old tobacco factory in Linz (Austria), this humanist platform – between politics and art – hosts Haderer’s permanent work and organizes exhibitions of satirical art, cartoons, comics, workshops, meetings and readings.
