During the Marseille stopover of the frigate Hermione, from 12 to 16 April next, the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), official partner of the 2018 trip, entitled “Libres Ensemble de l’Atlantique à la Méditerranée”, proposes with Cartooning for Peace an exceptional day !
Saturday, April 14, appointment is given at the Palais de la Bourse in Marseille for a series of events on the theme of migration and living together, with the support of the Marseille-Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Three exceptional cartoonists are to be found throughout the day: Plantu, president of Cartooning for Peace opens the ball with the useless “Tous Migrants”! and a conference on “living together” at 11am; Red!, cartoonist from Marseille, proposes a debate on the theme of migration through press cartoons at 4:15pm; and Willis from Tunis, Tunisian cartoonist, will sketch the day live by her presence at the two symposiums organized by the OIF.
The exhibition “All Migrants!” of Cartooning for Peace, presented at each stop on the Hermione Mediterranean circuit, is not missing and is offered to the public in the museum hall of the Palais de la Bourse. This exhibition traces the complex journey of migrants through press cartoons from all over the world. From the reasons for leaving to the process of integration in a new country, not forgetting the obstacles encountered during their journey, press cartoonists analyse in a few lines this major challenge for our societies.
