We will have to wait the D-day to know what will happen… But this historic summit, announced with great pomp since April and then cancelled by Trump on May 24, seems definitively confirmed for June 12, in Singapore.
On the agenda, they will talk about the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. If Trump wanted at some point to back out, it was because of the “hostility” and “anger” of the Pyongyang regime, which refused the precondition of a “complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization“, demanded by Washington.
The two leaders – and their entourage – put a little water in their wine for not missing a historic opportunity for the relations between the two countries. Trump pledges he won’t impose new sanctions during the negotiations and Kim Jong-un talks about a “step-by-step” denuclearization process. The military presence of the United Sates in South Korea will be skillfully avoided…
On June 12, the international attention will be turned towards Singapore, because with their unpredictable personalities, you have to expect everything!
