A police blunder puts the fire back in Minneapolis (USA). Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old African-American man, was killed on April 11 during a police checkpoint. Charged with “manslaughter”, the policewoman claims to have mistaken her firearm for her taseur. She has since resigned from her position and faces up to ten years in prison.
This new police blunder with tragic consequences sets Minneapolis ablaze again: the city, already bruised by the unbearable death of George Floyd on May 25, 2020 (at the origin of the Black Lives Matter movement), and where the trial of his murderer Derek Chauvin is currently taking place, has inevitably been in the grip of revolt for several days.
