The grandson of Polish miners who emigrated to France in the 1930s, Yves Pakula, alias Pakman, graduated from the Estienne school and worked for a long time in advertising agencies as a copywriter, art director and storyboarder. From his storyboarding experience, he retained a taste for framed drawings; from his advertising experience, he retained the importance of graphic identity.
