Jean-Jacques Loup was born in 1936 in Arles (France). He started to work as a cartoonist in France in 1969. In 1974, he started focusing on comic strips, then he became a political cartoonist for “Rebuts de presse” in the program “Droit de réponse” animated by Michel Polac on the French channel TF1.

Loup has worked for various French newspapers, including L’Express,Marianne and the Nouvel Obs, and for magazines such as Mormoil, Fluide Glacial and Charlie Mensuel. He was a true artist with many talents : he was a cartoonist, but also an architect and a jazz pianist.

He passed away on the 31st of July 2015  at the age of 79.
