Jérôme Grethen was born in Luxembourg in 1975. He spent part of his childhood doodling in the empty offices of the Luxembourg banks where his father worked.
Despite a spell at the Beaux-Arts, he considers himself self-taught. At the tender age of 9, his first ‘press’ cartoon was published in a magazine aimed at schools. At 18 he published his first comic strip. Keenly aware of current affairs, he submitted his cartoons to Tageblatt, a Luxembourg daily, which published them regularly. He was then published in various media before taking a long break.
Today, his passion has led him to resume his press cartooning activities: giving a synthetic picture of social, political and human systems, with a touch of wry humour.
