Javad Takjoo was born in Mashhad in 1985 and currently lives in Lahijan, northern Iran.
He started working as a cartoonist for the weekly newspaper Lahijan. He has worked with several popular national newspapers such as Etemad, Jam- jam, Nishkhat, Arman melli, etc. for the past 18 years.
Takjoo was a founding member of Guilan Comic Association and a member of its board since 2011. He has also served as the artistic secretary of the “Afdesta” International Comic Contest twice and a member of the jury of the “Kosovo” International Comic Contest and has participated in various comic contests. He has won numerous awards in Germany, Serbia, Croatia, South Korea, India, Colombia, Romania, Turkey, etc.
In 2009, Takjoo was named as one of the top 10 cartoonists by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tehran.
