Taking actions in cartoons: debates and meetings in prisons

Cartooning for Peace actions are based on a strong conviction: editorial cartoons trigger spontaneous reactions that help to free speech, to build bridges between people. In 2016, this conviction leads Cartooning for Peace to organise meetings ans workshops on editorial cartoons in French prisons, in partnership with the French Ministry of Justice.

Our approach is to reduce fractures using cartoons as a discussion tool during meetings between prisoners and CFP cartoonists. In order to develop these actions, Cartooning for Peace and GENEPI, a students organization teaching to persons in jails, also decided to join forces.
