I have a dream – Un nouveau monde se dessine (Sketching a new world)

“I have a dream – Un nouveau monde se dessine” was published by Steinkis editions in August 2013, in collaboration with Cartooning for Peace. This collective book pays tribute to Martin Luther King on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his famous speech.

On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King delivered a speech in Washington which became one of the fundamental texts of the twentieth century. What is left of the Martin Luther King’s causes? Were his dreams realized? What would he fight for nowadays?
The book consists of the portraits of 9 leading figures (Aung Suu Kyi, Nelson Mandela, Muhammad Yunus, Vaclav Havel, Barack Obama, Raoni, Stéphane Hessel, Joan Baez and Wangari Muta Maathai) inspired by Martin Luther King’s causes, and cartoons drawn by 27 editorial cartoonists from around the world.
