From November 2015, Cartooning for Peace presents its new educational kit about the Mediterranean region’s contemporary issues : “Draw me the Mediterranean”.
Its goal is to give young audience and students keys to understand the main issues in the Mediterranean Region : freedom of speech, borders and migrations, environment, challenges for the youth…
Its ambition? Pay tribute in cartoons to the cultural diversity of the region and contribute to the construction of a common area of peace, to live quietly together.
The Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region launched a call for “Media in the Mediterranean” to support citizen journalism in the Mediterranean as a tool for freedom of speech, democracy and solidarity. Thanks to this project, Cartooning for Peace has curated and produced this new educational exhibition made of editorial cartoons about Mediterranean issues, to educate young people around the Mediterranean to the practice of citizen journalism.
“Draw me the Mediterranean” educational kit is composed of an exhibition of 10 panels, an educational booklet for students and a booklet for teachers. This kit tours in Marseille area since mid-December 2015. Starting 2016, the exhibition is made to be presented to young audience of Mediterranean region’s countries.
The exhibition is available only in French. If you are interested in using a Cartooning for Peace tool in English, please discover our “Cartooning for Peace and Democracy” educational booklet.
