A big meeting of press cartoonists!

On 13 and 14 January, 36 press cartoonists from all over France met at the Centre Paris Anim’ Jacques Bravo, located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris.

The first objective of this meeting was to reflect on the educational actions implemented in conjunction with Cartooning for Peace’s in schools, extra-curricular and prisons activities to raise awareness on the profession of press cartoonist and its societal role, as well as the concept of freedom of expression, and to take part in supporting education professionals in the use of press cartoons.

The second objective was to discover the new exhibition designed by Cartooning for Peace, in partnership with the Maison des Femmes de Saint-Denis, MGEN and the Grand-Est region: “Draw me Gender Equality”.

The first day was dedicated to new cartoonists wishing to intervene in the framework of Cartooning for Peace’s educational actions. The second day brought together old and new cartoonists to discuss their workshop practices.

These two days were rich in exchanges and discoveries, in a friendly and graphic atmosphere!
