Actively involved in the youth and citizenship plan proposed by the town of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine in the wake of the attack on Samuel Paty, and more specifically around the theme of media and information literacy, the Blaise-Cendrars media library has organised a number of initiatives around press cartoons from 2021, in close partnership with Cartooning for Peace.
The 2024 project was organised around the exhibition ‘Let’s go for sport! Press cartoons and citizenship’ with ten groups of young secondary school students from Conflans-Sainte-Honorine who were able to visit the exhibition and meet a press cartoonist for a workshop-debate and a practical press cartoon workshop.
The residency closes with in a public showcase of the young participants’ work, based on the cartoons they produced during these meetings, at the Simone Signoret Theatre (12 place Auguste-Romagné, 78700 Conflans-Sainte-Honorine) on Thursday 13 June 2024 at 7pm.
The opportunity to discover the cartoons produced as part of the project, to hear feedback from young people and teachers and also to discuss issues around a second round-table discussion entitled ‘Young people and the news’, with the participation of :
