As part of a new partnership with the city of Vaulx-en-Velin, Cartooning for Peace is building an educational project during the after-school time of the children aged 8 to 10. In February 2019, the association organizes a training course for 18 animators allowing them to discover press cartoons, to appropriate the exhibition Cartooning for Peace” and to discover fun activities to tackle, through drawing, societal themes with children.
In April 2019, the first meeting workshops were organised with press cartoonists in the city’s leisure centres. The children were able to discover the work of the press cartoonists Kristian and Ballouhey, exchange with them about the decoding of press cartoons and practice drawing on themes such as racism, gender equality or social networks.
On 26 June 2019, a major conference bringing together all the children who participated in the project will be held in Vaulx-en-Velin in the presence of two press cartoonists.
