Cartooning for Peace and the Arab Institute for Human Rights (AIHR), as part of the project “Cartooning Peace and Democracy” supported by the European Commission, are offering young Tunisians citizenship education through press cartoons.
After working on the educational kit “Cartooning peace and democracy” reflecting the challenges and aspirations of Tunisian youth, Kelibia’s students benefited from their first workshop with a press cartoonist. Nidhal Ghariani met 41 members of the Citizenship Clubs on Saturday, March 3, 2018. Students from El Bostène high school and Ali Belhouane high school in Kélibia were able to exchange with the Tunisian cartoonist about press cartoons, the plurality of readings and opinions, and freedom of expression in Tunisia.
Other workshops with press cartoon professionals are coming to Tunisia in order to promote a culture of peace and democracy among young people.
