From the 25th to the 29th of November, students from partner schools in Addis Ababa had the opportunity to meet with cartoonists
Elias Areda, Henok Demessie, Zennamarkos Mayawork, Yinehew Worku and Yemsrach Yetneberk. These meetings were organised as part of the “
Cartooning for Peace and Democracy” Programme funded by the European Union. They followed the creation of educational tools and joint training for cartoonists and teachers involved in October 2019.
Ethiopia was the last of the 9 countries involved in this magnificent Programme. Cartooning for Peace thanks the cartoonists, the IICBA-UNESCO, the Alliance Ethio-Française, the French Embassy, the Ministry of Education of Ethiopia for their commitment and support.
Cartooning for Peace would like to take this opportunity to thank the European Union for allowing the implementation of this 3-year Programme and hopes to be able to extend its contribution to Peace, Democracy and Freedom of expression by education.
