Supported by the January 11 Fund, the project “Pedagogy through press cartoons and fundamental freedoms”, led by Cartooning for Peace, the International Institute for Human Rights and Peace and the Léo Lagrange Federation, proposes to co-construct tools with education professionals and young people in order to encourage the learning and sharing of republican values, with particular attention given to freedom of expression, freedom of the press and the understanding of secularism.
During the first year of the project, the three partners set up six experimental meetings, combining professionals and young people from the school and out-of-school environment. These meetings made it possible to gather the needs of the beneficiaries with the aim of creating adapted support and digital tools to reinforce the legal knowledge of education professionals and to raise their awareness of pedagogy through press cartoons as well as the profession of press cartoonist.
On the 7th of September, the beneficiaries of the experimental meetings, conducted in the first year, had the opportunity to discover the first version of the digital tools created from their recommendations and needs.
The support offer will be available to all education professionals from November 2022.
