Cartooning for Peace is creating a new educational tool for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games: “Let’s go for sport! Press cartoons and citizenship”.
It will include an exhibition of press cartoons on a range of social issues, activity sheets and podcasts of interviews with top sportsmen and women.
The themes reflect social issues that are reflected in the world of sport, and vice versa: racism, sexism, homophobia, the environment, geopolitics, health, etc.
Aimed at as many people as possible, this tool will be available on our website for free downloading.
This educational tool is created with a group of highly committed young people from the Centres Paris Anim’ Jacques Bravo and Paul Valeyre in the 9th arrondissement of Paris.
In October, these young people met Rodho, a press cartoonist and member of Cartooning for Peace, to work on press cartoons, choose the key cartoons for each theme that will make up the exhibition and prepare and conduct interviews with sportsmen and women.
This educational tool was co-constructed with young people from the Centres Paris Anim’ Jacques Bravo and Paul Valeyre: Mariam, Mamane, Nathanaël, Lukas, Alva, Valentin, Ismaël, Mohammed, Adam, Tesnim, Aya, Timothée, Foucheny, Galinia.
Thank you to the Centre staff: Samuel Abichou, Mehdi Dzunga, Lola Vuarnesson, Vincent Gestermann, Laure Helary.
This project has been awarded the Cultural Olympiad Label for the Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in Paris in 2024, in the “debate of ideas” category.
