Round-table discussion on “Artificial intelligence: a (r)evolution?” to mark the publication of Cartooning for Peace’s new book

To mark the publication of the book “Intelligence artificielle: une (r)évolution?” (Artificial Intelligence: a (r)evolution?) published by Gallimard in partnership with Amnesty International and France Médias Monde, Cartooning for Peace and the Fondation Jean Jaurès invite you to join them for a fun and intelligent evening debate (in French) on 14 May 2024 at 7pm at the Fondation Jean Jaurès (12 Cité Malesherbes, 75009 Paris, France)!

The spectacular success of the ChatGPT conversational robot, launched at the end of 2022, has introduced the general public to a sample of the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence (AI): for better or for worse? Awareness of the need to establish a framework for the development of AI seems to be growing in recent times. Indeed, this technological advance also raises vast ethical, legal, political and economic questions…

We will debate on theses issues with:

• Kak, press cartoonist (L’Opinion, Franc-Tireur), President of Cartooning for Peace
• Olivier Tesquet, journalist at Télérama and specialist in digital surveillance issues
• Katia Roux, advocacy expert for Amnesty International
• David Lacombled, President of La villa numeris
• Diana Filippova, activist, politician and novelist

Moderator: David Medioni, Director of the Media Observatory of the Fondation Jean-Jaurès, freelance journalist for Franc-Tireur, Conspiracy Watch and La Tribune Dimanche, founder and editor-in-chief of Ernest, essayist.

The discussions will be enlivened by a screening of cartoons by Cartooning for Peace cartoonists.
