The exhibition “Let’s animate cartoons” organized in partnership with the Ecole des Gobelins.

Gobelins, Image school,  and the Association Cartooning for Peace  chaired by Plantu present “Let’s animate Cartoons!”. From January 13 to February 25, 2011, the exhibition brings together fifty Cartooning for Peace’s cartoons, 25 animated films and their preparatory drawings made by animation filmmakers students from GOBELINS, Image school.

This exhibition is the result of a workshop about editorial cartoons presented by Plantu with a group of 25 students from the school « Gobelins » in their 1st year. The objective of this first workshop was to produce animated cartoons. 25 very short animated films using codes and themes of editorial cartoons have been created.

Students worked on social issues: women status in society, gender equality, consumer society, freedom of expression, freedom of the press, censorship, environmental protection, ecology, sustainable development, financial crisis, the responsibility of media … The ambition of the two partners is to highlight the editorial cartoon potential of animation and discover a new side of editorial cartoons.
