The association’s 2025 Annual Report is now available:
The report provides a comprehensive overview of the activities carried out in 2025, the continuation of ongoing partnerships—including editorial, educational and support initiatives for press cartoonists—commemorations marking the 10th anniversary of the attack on Charlie Hebdo, the fight against disinformation, the topic of artificial intelligence, and the association’s commitment to democracy…
Kak, president of Cartooning for Peace, also writes an editorial on the political cartoon as a barometer of democracy: “When we tirelessly repeat, from conferences to debates, from publications to interviews, that ‘press cartoons are a barometer of democracy’, we are thinking first and foremost of the many cases of cartoonists mistreated by their authorities, in undemocratic regimes or those on the verge of becoming so. […] So, just as press cartoonists do on a daily basis, and as we do through the hundreds of workshops and meetings organised each year by our association, our fellow citizens too should return to the fundamentals: fighting every day for democracy, nothing but democracy, all of democracy.”
