While Donald Trump’s shadow hung seriously over these November 8, 2022 midterm elections, the Democratic camp is finally holding up better than expected. “It’s a good day for democracy… While the press and experts predicted a giant red wave, it did not happen,” said U.S. President Joe Biden. The results are still uncertain, but while the Republicans have a slight lead in the House of Representatives, the Democrats could still hold the Senate. In Florida, Republican Governor Ron DeSantis was largely re-elected, confirming his status as a potential challenger to Donald Trump in the upcoming 2024 elections.
If the country remains deeply fractured – we remember the assault on the Capitol by Trump’s supporters, who were determined not to acknowledge his defeat – has Trumpism reached its limits?
