Violence against women is too often ignored, causing discomfort and sometimes even suicide. Since 1 January 2019, 101 feminicide cases have been documented in France, which prompted the government to organise a “Grenelle on domestic violence” on Tuesday 3 September. The first emergency measures are expected by associations and relatives of victims of feminicide. Several workshops will be set up, particularly on prevention and support for women.

In the book “Place aux femmes !” of the Cartooning for Peace collection published by Gallimard and prefaced by Elisabeth Badinter, press cartoonists have often taken up the subject of women to denounce, with humour, the inequalities and injustices to which they are victims all over the world.
