Before the start of the traditional Halloween parade in New York, on Tuesday, October 31, a truck drove down a bike path and knocked over the people. This ramming car attack left 8 dead and 12 wounded. The city of New York, which had not experienced a deadly attack since September 11, 2001, decided to keep the festivities already planned.
The suspect of the attack, wounded and arrested by the police, was formally charged. The FBI announced that he had prepared this attack for several weeks and claimed his allegiance to the Islamic State. Immediately after, President Donald Trump urged the death penalty for him.
