Help Navalny

Editorial published on April 22, 2021

The Russian opponent Alexei Navalny, who started a hunger strike on 31 March from his prison in Pokrov, was transferred to a prison hospital on Monday 19 April. The worsening of his health condition sounded the alarm last weekend: while his relatives feared an imminent risk of cardiac arrest, the Russian authorities considered his health condition “satisfactory”…
Western countries are constantly denouncing the situation and calling for his immediate release. In Russia, braving the fear of repression, thousands of demonstrators have been mobilizing in the streets since April 21, in an attempt to save Navalny and, with him, what remains of democracy in Russia.
