Happy birthday, Earth!

April 22nd, Earth Day. Launched 50 years ago in the United States, this day mobilizes civil society on environmental protection. In other words, this year, it is celebrated at a distance, virtually, from home, confinement obliges.
Some people like to say that covid-19, since presumably it is of animal origin, is a revenge of Nature. The reality is obviously much more complex… But it is clear that our Earth, although hit hard by the pandemic, is breathing a little better since human activity has been forced to reduce. Air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions have dropped significantly, to the great delight of animal and plant species.
This global health crisis also gives us an opportunity to warm up a little to prepare for the future, much more significant climate crisis that awaits us.
Unless we learn from it today, to avoid much worse tomorrow…
