France: trial of the attacks of November 13, 2015

It was under very high security that the trial of the November 13, 2015 attacks opened on September 8, 2021 at the Palais de Justice in Paris, six years after the terrorist attacks perpetrated by the Islamic State organization (Daech) that plunged France into terror and left more than 130 dead and more than 350 injured in Paris and Saint-Denis.

Like the trial of the January 7, 2015 attacks, this extraordinary trial, which will last nine months, is a trial for history: 1,800 civil parties, 500 lawyers, 20 defendants, including Salah Abdeslam, the only survivor of the attack commandos.

On the seventh day of the trial, September 16, “videos without sound” of the tragic attacks were broadcast by the Special Assize Court of Paris. A moment dreaded by the civil parties as the trauma is so deep…
