The campaign for the French presidential election next April (April 10 and 24) was already struggling to excite the French, that the tragic war in Ukraine has totally crushed it.
Absence of substantive debates, threat of the rise of the extreme right (with the candidacies of Marine Le Pen and Eric Zemmour)… and of abstention! We deplored before the attack of the Kremlin.
The 12 candidates must now integrate into their program this new dimension and answer for their positions on the conflict and its consequences, heavy.
Emmanuel Macron, candidate for his own re-election and favorite in the polls, must, for his part, carry out the difficult diplomatic negotiations with Moscow as the current president and the obligations of an election campaign that is, to say the least, unprecedented.
