The eye of the cyclone is now in Europe where the human toll already exceeds that of China (3230 deaths). On Tuesday 17 March, Europe was already counting 195,000 cases for 7,865 deaths and the United States deplored the first 100 deaths. Italy was the first outbreak detected, Spain is the second most infected country and several European Union countries are closing their borders one after the other, fearing the coming wave.
The drastic confinement of the population (“Italian-style” confinement), despite the reluctance of some governments (Great Britain, the Netherlands…), seems to be becoming the rule in order to contain the virus and reduce the number of victims as much as possible… Stay at home to save lives!
