Diplomatic Duel on the Iranian Nuclear Issue

Since Joe Biden’s arrival at the White House, talks have resumed between Washington and Tehran at the invitation of the European Union. The objective? Returning to the famous nuclear agreement (JCPoA), signed in 2015 under Obama’s mandate. In 2018, as we remember, President Trump announced the withdrawal of the United States from the Vienna Agreement and increased the level of economic sanctions against Iran, to the great regret of the other signatories.
However, despite gestures of good will by the new American administration, Iran has since 23 February limited inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on its nuclear activities and continues to produce low-enriched uranium, well beyond the quantities authorized by the 2015 agreement, to maintain pressure.
