The pandemic is on the rise again in Europe. This week, the WHO expressed concern about this new outbreak on the old continent and fears 700,000 deaths by spring 2022.
Faced with this dreaded finding, most European countries have had to reintroduce new health restrictions: Austria is confining again its population. In several states, the health pass is again mandatory, as well as the wearing of masks, telecommuting … and the third dose of vaccine, often plebiscited by European leaders.
The prospect of these health constraints has rekindled tensions and violence, as in the Netherlands, Belgium and Guadeloupe (France). There is a general feeling of despondency and the situation is undermining societies, which are increasingly divided between the vaccinated and the non-vaccinated.
The end of the year celebrations will be marked by the pandemic and our hospitals are likely to be put to the test once again.
