Concern about water!

Editorial published on March 23, 2023

On March 22, International Water Day, the United Nations released an alarming report on global access to clean water. According to the report, already two billion people do not have regular access to fresh water, and the situation will get worse. The reasons for this are population growth, pollution of water sources and, above all, global warming, which is increasing droughts.
The 6th IPCC report, also released this week, highlights the gap between the commitments made by States in recent years and their implementation. It shows that the populations most vulnerable to droughts are also those who pollute the least. For the first time, this report demonstrates that rapid and radical action would be profitable in the long term, as a last resort to convince.
