On Wednesday the 25 of October, the Chinese Communist Party, during his 19th Congress, has renewed without much surprise the mandate of the outgoing president Xi Jinping to the post of General Secretary of the Central Committee and as President of the Central Military Commission of the Party. This conclave was illustrated by the glaring absence of opposition and successor for the Chinese leader.
He had the honor to see his name and his « thought » written in the charter of the Communist Party, putting him at the same level as the regime’s founder, Mao Zedong. This omnipotent power worries and many people see it as «return to the sources».
Omnipresent in the media, the head of the state of the second world economic power did not hesitate to censure them so far. His first mandate was marked by a reduction of freedoms and a draconian Internet censorship.
