BRAVO PLANTU! Tribute by Cartooning for Peace cartoonists

Editorial published on March 31, 2021

After 50 years of international career and a daily presence on the front page of the newspaper Le Monde since 1985, the cartoonist Plantu, founder and honorary president of Cartooning for Peace, is retiring from the newspaper.
An ardent defender of freedom of expression, passionate about journalism, a great artist, a man of peace, tolerance and dialogue, Plantu has devoted his entire professional career to press cartoons and the defense of human rights.
His daily drawings on the front page of Le Monde have contributed to the newspaper’s influence, where he learned everything about journalism.
His commitment to his colleagues threatened around the world, as well as to the younger generation, has been a constant and has made him the internationally recognized cartoonist that he is today.
From April 2nd, Cartooning for Peace cartoonists will take over the front page of Le Monde newspaper. More info here.
