A freelance political cartoonist and animator from Porto, Zez Vaz has been creating editorial cartoons since 2018. His cartoons have been published in several international media outlets, such as Público (Portugal), Information (Denmark) and The Siren News (United States), as well as on platforms such as Cartoon Movement and CartoonStock. He was awarded second prize for editorial cartooning at the 2025 World Press Cartoon Award and was named among the 15 finalists for the European Cartoon Award in the same year.
