Yoshiaki Yokota was born and studied in Tokyo. He has been a cartoonist for Kyodo News since 2000, and has also drawn for the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper and other newspapers across Japan. He has twice won the gold medal at the Yomiuri International Cartoon Competition, and was a judge for the Aydın Doğan International Cartoon Competition (2019, 2023). He is an organiser of the World Cartoon Forum and enjoys interacting with cartoonists from around the world. He is a member of FECO and the Japan Cartoonist Society.
