Wimar has always been interested in drawing and graphic humour. As a press cartoonist became an obvious choice, he soon began to be published in a number of Cuban media, including La Joven Cuba, El Enjambre, Tremenda Nota, Periodismo de Barrio and YucaByte. He is always keen to include social and critical reflection in his work. From 2019 until the newspaper’s closure in 2022, he was the director of the humour supplement “xel2” for the newspaper elToque. Wimar has also published several comic strips.
