Cartoonist, illustrator and writer, Pinilla is the Winner of the 2014 Pedro León Zapata Award for Best Venezuelan Cartoonist, and the NAHP GOLD AWARD José Martí, Outstandind Editorial Cartoon 2019. He currently publishes in Diario Las Américas (Miami) and El Tiempo Latino newspaper (Washington DC) . He has been a cartoonist of several and Venezuelan magazines like: Líder, La Voz, La Región, El Nacional, Últimas Noticias, Notitarde, Meridiano; for the magazines Exceso and Clímax for the portals Elestímulo.com and Efectococuyo.com. He is the author of four stories for children written and illustrated by him: El hada de los castigos, El misterio del bosque, Fausto Marden (Ediciones COBO) and his last work, El gato glotón (Editorial Planeta). He has also published a detective novel, El susurro de la mariposa.
