Mahmoud Abbas holds a degree in graphic design from Al-Azhar University in Gaza. He works as a digital content producer for the Al Jazeera Network. He is a member of the Swedish Journalists forbundet and the International Federation of Journalists. He has participated in numerous international and local exhibitions. He has also been selected as a jury member in a number of cartoon competitions.
