Jean-Marc Couchet, aka Giemsi, obtained a PhD in biomolecular chemistry in 2002. But rather than experimenting with science, Jean-Marc first explored journalism and then press illustration. Under the sweet nickname of “Giemsi” (nickname created from his initials), he has collaborated with many newspapers: Siné Hebdo, Bakchich, La Mèche, Satiricon… And currently collaborates with Mon Quotidien, L’Actu, Spirou, L’Huma Dimanche, La Torche 2.0 and the Conseil Scientifique de l’éducation Nationale. The recognition of his peers comes naturally with the 1st prize 2010 of the festival of the Caricature and the Drawing of Press of Castelnaudary which he received with pride. He is also a comic book author, scriptwriter and columnist.
