A professional cartoonist and illustrator from Latvia, Gatis Šlūka graduated from the Latvian Academy of Art with a master’s degree in graphic arts. He works as a freelance artist and for the Latvijas Mediji publishing house. For almost 20 years, he has successfully collaborated with numerous magazines (The Washington Post, USA Today, China Daily, Politico, Courrier International, Greenpeace, etc.), marketing companies and individual clients. His last two books were in the top 10 bestsellers in Latvia, with the last one reaching number one on the bestseller list. He has also won several press cartoon prizes.
