Bob Whitmore is the regular cartoonist for *Creative Loafing*, a weekly newspaper in Tampa, Florida, with a circulation of 200,000 copies. In August 2025, he lost his job at *Creative Loafing Tampa* because of a cartoon criticising Israel (the first in the gallery below), which two readers described as anti-Semitic. The newspaper agreed with the readers and insisted that Bob Whitmore be sacked, apologising for having published the cartoon. It should be noted that Bob had offered his resignation but that this was not accepted. Bob Whitmore was eventually reinstated to the editorial team after readers demanded his return.
