Fabiane Langona is a journalist and self-taught visual artist. A cartoonist for the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo, she began her career in graphic arts as an editorial assistant at “MAD in BRAZIL” magazine. She is the author of the books “Cutting the dough with care” (winner of the HQ Mix Award for best graphic humour publication), published by LeYA/Barba Negra; “Women of the world”, published by Mórula Editorial; and the comic book “The Trivialisation of Feelings”, published by Ugra Press. Her work has been published in various national and international newspapers and magazines, such as Revista Piauí, Le Monde Diplomatique Brasil, Quatrocincoum, TPM, O Estado de São Paulo, Diário de Pernambuco, Courrier International, Stripburguer and Mongólia, amongst others.
She was the first Brazilian woman to design the poster for the Piracicaba International Humour Fair, and has exhibited her caricatures and humorous drawings at numerous festivals dedicated to graphic humour, such as the Melaíto Humour Fair (Cuba), the International Caricature, Press Cartoon and Humour Fair (France) and the Galway Cartoon Festival (Ireland).
She made her debut at the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper as an illustrator for Folhateen, and has also published weekly cartoons and humorous drawings in the Mercado and Ilustríssima supplements. Since 2017, she has been publishing the daily comic strip ‘Vivre ça fait mal’ in Ilustrada, which has been called ‘Espèces d’espaces’ since 2026.
