Atena Farghadani is in jail since August 2014 because she drew Parliament members as animals. The cartoonist was freed in November but put in jail again because she denounced the mistreatments she received in the prison of Evin.
She is currently sentenced to 12 years and 9 months imprisonment –even though her sentence should be a maximum of 7 years and a half for the charges held against her- and she is now under a worrying situation concerning her health since she started a hunger strike in February.
